European Division

The European Division was founded in 1938 and has been upholding the National Ski Patrol creed of "Service and Safety" ever since. Members of the European Division experience the same training opportunities and benefits as any U.S. bound NSP Patroller. In fact, given the small size of the European Division and our training focus, the European Division offers courses and advancement opportunities that are often considerably more difficult to find in the United States.

You can find more information about our training opportunities in our Disciplines Page. Our instructors have decades of collective experience working in Emergency Medical and Rescue situations. Our instructors also have top notch training in instruction, we know this because we train almost all of them ourselves.

Patrolling in Europe

The National Ski Patrol member organizations provide Emergency Medical and Rescue services to mountains throughout the United States and to several international partner mountains. In Europe, there are no partner mountains; so while we have the luxury of training in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, we confine our patrol events to our local communities. In fact, the National Ski Patrol provides service throughout the year, and you're just as likely to find a National Ski Patroller at a mountain bike race or triathlon as you are to find them at a slalom or bunny hill.

Ski Dubai!

European Division membership also extends into the Middle East with a paid patroller cadre at the Indoor Ski Arena in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
