Who We Are... (NSPS History and Membership)

The earliest known recordings of skiing in Europe date back at least 4000 years to the Rødøy rock carvings in the Nordland of Norway. This legacy is proudly represented on its home turf on behalf of the National Ski Patrol through the European Division.

The European Division of the National Ski Patrol has been dedicated to the Service and Safety of the outdoor public since 1994. We have opportunities for training and patrolling throughout Europe. We have established Patrols in Bavaria, Hesse, Ramstein, Stuttgart, Vicenza and Zurich.

Federation Internationale Des Patrouilles De Ski

The European Division is a proud member of the Federation Internationale Des Patrouilles De Ski.

Members of the European Division inherit the same privileges afforded to FIPS Members. It also entitles a member with an achieved patroller status to optionally affix the FIPS patch on the Division uniform, as described in the Division Policy and Procedure Manual.

Ski Dubai!

European Division membership also extends into the Middle East with a paid patroller cadre at the Indoor Ski Arena in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
